Common layouts and formats of memes found in contemporary digital culture have been converted into an analogous version by means of traditional woodcut. During that process, the formal decisions, ranging from the size of the image to the selection of tools, were made in reference to the production of pamphlets prior the introduction of letterpress printing. The content of each image has been composed of a variety of appropiated images and citations, matching the generation of memes.

In correspondence to the meme format as a usual form of peer-group specific communication in online communities, the prints are referring to current political and societal discourses concerning the city of Halle (Saale) in Germany and have been placed in the public cityscape accordingly.
