woodcut, print on paper
varying size
Common layouts and formats of memes found in contemporary digital culture have been converted into an analogous version by means of traditional woodcut. During that process the formal decisions ranging from the size of the image to the selection of tools were made in reference to the production of plarcards and public notices prior the introduction of letterpress printing. The content of each image has been composed of a variety of appropiated images and citations, matching the generation of memes.
Being a counterpart to the work "untitled (turn)" these mementos to medieval placards were written in English and were to be presented in the contexts of official institutions and aimed at a larger and more diverse viewership, as the medieval placard originally was intented to be presented in its former sociocultural context.
